new goodies

jinianMy new shoes have gemma cups.
And my new Macbook (star) is 13" and white. Not quite as awesome as Wim's bzzzt, which is 12" and made of metal, but pretty damned great. This is me getting over a little more of the fallout from the Mario era.
[*] I was engaged to Mario for a couple of years starting in 1996. Problems arose when he turned out to be an inconsiderate jerk, which despite other personal changes that have been excellent overall is still the case. One of the ways the inconsideration manifested itself was in getting me to pay for all things supporting him, with the understanding that he would do school and then support me while I did. (My favorite part: His parents claimed him as a dependent anyway. Ha ha!) His job provided recreational money for him, not, say, food. Also he was doing poorly in school. Resentment was pretty inevitable. So, I have been really twitchy about Wim paying for stuff that's not absolutely necessary for as long as he's been helping me keep costs down so I can do school. Star is a sign that I am a little more okay with presents, even if they're presents that would be way too expensive for me to give anybody right now. Also a sign that my sweetie is good.
