Feeling grumpy and over-peopled, due in part to slug overwork and in part to hormones (natural or synthetic, at this point -- hoping they'll settle down soon), in part to upcoming school stress/excitement and in part to dental doom tomorrow morning. A little more headachy than usual, but I haven't been sleeping quite right so that's probably it rather than the estrogen. No signs of stroke thus far. Herpes vaccine study ends next month for me, ends overall in another year.5 or so. Not eating tomatoes and taking homeopathic sugar pills seems to kill the hand pain, until I fall off the wagon or, mainly, run out.

Bought more plants today. What? They make me happy. And there was a coupon. And who could resist a lovely cerise miniature hollyhock? Or three?
     1 IRIS JAPANESE PINK LADY
     1 HOLLYHOCK MINI BRILLIANT x3
1 PHLOX TALL HYB C. VANDENBURG
     1 ASTILBE AMETHYST
     1 MONARDA MIX x3
     1 IRIS LADY FRIEND

Planted the Tricyrtis 'Shiro'-whatsit. (It flowers white, so I can remember the shiro bit, but it's a long name.) I think I cleared enough ground around it to make the nonmowing status of the area obvious. Next up: poeticus daffodils in front, 'Checkerboard' fuchsia between Tricyrtis and the birch tree, fritillaries, long-suffering peonies, and bright-pink crocus. Hmm, still much to do before the previous plant order arrives. *whistling*
     1 TULIP ICE STICK
     1 TULIP PULCHELLA VIOLACEA
     1 TRITELEIA RUBY
     1 CAMASSIA QUAMASH
     1 LILY LAVENDER MOUNTAIN
     1 EARLY SNOW GLORIES

If you guys choose to move someday, do you think you'll take all these plants with you? I'm trying to decide how many of mine to move.

It seems pretty unlikely that we'll rent here for the rest of our lives, so I have thought about it some. Most of my plants are cutting-propagatable, and others will spread over time, so I should be able to take some and leave some of a given plant. I resisted putting things in the big dirt for a while, but they do much better there and they make me happier. I look at it sort of like going to the zoo -- I spend money for an experience that makes me feel good, even if I have to leave afterward. And who knows how long we'll be here, right? Buying a house isn't feasible right now, probably for quite a while, and this is a great place.
