Shoes I love and would wear all the time but they cost an awful lot even with discount:
Shoes I am likely to get instead of those:
Shoes I love and would buy if they came in a me-wearable size but instead I mourn lots and watch ebay for the recently discontinued women's sizes:
(I wear women's narrow, which is objective AA width, but can get by with insoles in women's medium, B. Men's medium is objective D, and there's no way they'd fit well enough to be anything but trouble.)

Off to Quilcene in the morning for fun with W's mom. Back Sunday eveningish.
- Hush Puppies Canon - black/white, maybe pink/white
- Hush Puppies Chateau - blue, really any but that yellow/green thing
- Indigo Citta - blue
- Indigo Margarita - coral/orange
- Naot Marine - black, blue
- Sperry Top-Sider Pelican Lug Mid - pink/blue [I think this is gone, alas; it was a goofy vertically-striped rubber boot in pastels and black, very cute]
- Indigo Santi - surely there was a prettier color than yellow at some point [this link is liable to expire when they run out, sorry]
Shoes I kind of love and would actually wear:
- Hush Puppies Iquito - blue, maybe pink, maybe black
- Indigo Moksha - black, red (but I did get Privo Vinyasas, which are red-and-black mary-janes too)
- Dansko Folly - green, plum [not up yet but are athletic-inspired with rocker soles - trust me, odd and cute]
Shoes I love and would wear all the time but they cost an awful lot even with discount:
- Mephisto Altina - black

- Saucony Shadow Nylon/Suede - olive/tan, blue/ginger [discontinued argh]

- Quark, maker of futuristic clogs, wins this one so far.
Favorite fancy color name/ material name juxtaposition:
- Still a tie between "Cigar Condor" and "Amaretto Pitstop". I'm not making this up, I promise. None of the examples are live yet, though.
Mystery approached with cynicism:
- The men's shoes for Hush Puppies have a lot more technological-sounding descriptions than the women's shoes. Actually more fancily made? I doubt it. So they're either assuming that men want to hear that kind of thing more than women, or they have research saying so. (Or they're trying to enforce the dominant paradigm on purpose, but I am cynical here rather than rabid.) Personally, if there's a bubble of nitrous oxide in my shoe, I want to know about it, but I seem to be resolutely all-gendered.
