I survived giant Thanksgiving at my house

The house was bizarrely clean. Everyone ate. No one died, despite my dad's tasting an English-ivy berry he found in the yard. Cats made themselves scarce, bird was popular, parents' dog was unobjectionable. I got to see Wim's mom, who is great, and got a shiny present. Only one person out of twenty-plus drove me up the wall.

And today I got to sleep in till noon and eat chocolate-amaretto cheesecake for lunch, which may have something to do with my general feeling that life is good.
