When a sign in the store says, "Pet the cat at your own risk", do not assume that the worst he will do is wrestle your arm a bit or leave dents in the skin. Even if he starts out licky and snuggling into a shopping basket, keep your guard up. Them's carnivores, and their teeth can slice your left index finger just as well as they can mouseflesh.
