musical weekend

dr4b and thatmathchick sing the Messiah last night. All the parts they were in were very good, though I didn't really enjoy most of the solo parts.
Tonight was the Canadian Brass concert that Wim's dad got us tickets for months ago. It was fine. They're very talented, clearly, it's just that I didn't care for a lot of what they did. They started off with the Baroque stuff that I do like very much, so it was all downhill past the goofy Christmas carols and jazz. (Small upward trend at klezmer but Glem Miller more than made up for it.) Oh well. It was all right, and Wim liked it very much. Next year, though, I will know that I'd much rather go tosnout's birthday dinner.
(Quilt still not sewn together, but the squares are trimmed and I may pin them before bed, thus finishing the hard part. We did manage to put up the outdoor lights we had, though I was right that we don't have enough yet. Um. I mightily ate peanut butter fudge, how's that?)
