fun with herbarium specimens
Jan. 27th, 2011 11:39 pmI keyed plants tonight, which I think is probably about as exciting as it sounds unless you're me, in which case it is really exciting. I did all the Hydrophyllaceae, all the Lamiaceae including my Scutellaria (which I got to have a whole conversation about with the head guy, since he did his thesis on it ages ago and was happy I'd grabbed this specimen), and some Onagraceae. I'm sad that therapy usually conflicts with these sessions!
On the last specimen I was looking at, I saw something amazing, which I think must have been insect eggs. Check it out:
