Actually it's not a drum solo; she did seem very focused on conducting the bashing drums, but it's really all the instruments crescendoing at the end of a song. I have no idea what this is called! Song ends, everyone gets noisy, stops, may repeat. No one I have asked knows a good name for this. She did it a LOT.

Her black leather suit was pretty great. I am slightly more dubious about her hair, orangey-red and big like Ronald McDonald's older cooler sister. :)

Early on, she yelled (pretty extensively) at a particularly annoying camera guy to be here now; reminded us later to experience the moment; had us turn around for the sunset. I felt my little patch of the North Meadow warmed up by my bare feet, and watched the parents and kids dancing together, and reveled in Cyndi saying she loved us too.

Bluesed-out "She Bop" is about the best thing ever.

Girl can sing. (Actually, I seem to be able to sing all her classic songs, though less awesomely; now someone just needs to tell me what that range is called.) According to Wikipedia, she lost her voice the year I was born and had to work hard to get it back. It worked.

In conclusion, I highly recommend blues concerts to the just-dumped, even if "True Colors" made me cry, and the great Cyndi to just about anyone.
