random things make a post
Jan. 31st, 2010 12:45 amRhythm Heaven for DS is a really ridiculously fun game. You learn to do lots of little tasks set to music using the DS's touch screen, the graphics are adorable and very different for each task, and then -- remix! Random scenes from each task and you have to try to keep up. It is a bit on the difficult side, but I'm enjoying it a lot.
I'm weaving houndstooth napkins. I'd better speed up on this so I can get done by Thursday, when they need the loom back for the next class. (I am NOT buying a loom. There is nowhere to put it. And anyway I'd still need to finish this with the same deadline -- warping the piece takes as long as weaving it, and I do not want to do all that again.)
Having an unkempt garden is excellent because there is always at least one each of creative and destructive tasks available, depending on my mood. Today was Dealing With Prickles: pruning roses, reining in holly suckers, and cleaning up damned anti-mulching holly leaves.
Thanks to
oyceter, I now have to reread all of adorable Japanese lesbian comic Maka-Maka, and v1 is backordered everywhere. Maybe my comic guys can get it for me. Maybe they will be thoroughly bemused by my asking them for porn. Heh heh heh.
I felt very emotionally unbalanced today, which worried me. I think it's just a migraine thing; I haven't had anything defined, but a lot of my other symptoms are happening too. Reading a Connie Willis collection proved unhelpful due to unpredictability, but the library is demanding it back tomorrow.
Need to get: new Vampire Weekend album, tix for St. Vincent on Feb. 5 (anyone else want to come?)
My dad turned 75 today.
