night of gluttony
Apr. 5th, 2006 05:50 amI got a really good box of California strawberries today. (It may actually be a good sign when I have trouble finding a box without rampaging mold on at least one berry -- they are probably ripe if that's a problem.) hattifattener is away, he couldn't (1) remind me that chocolate was a bad plan migraine-wise or (2) defend his bitter chocolate from my melting white chocolate into it, which rendered it sweeter and smoother but Wim-deadly. Ha ha! So, um, now there are zero strawberries and I am maybe a little buzzy.
Because I am very smart, I will now take my migraine preventives.
I'm also really enjoying the Kaleido Star anime. It has ObMagicalSidekick and ObCuteAnimal, but they are largely ignorable, possibly because their powers have been reduced by being split into two characters. There is also the one bad thing about Cardcaptor Sakura (I will hear of no others) in which Older Man Knows Best and Manipulates Heroine Into Reaching Full Potential, but it's not quite as problematic here because most of Sora's problems actually exist without Karlos needing to interfere. What I love about this show is the relationship that develops between Sora and Layla (Mia and Anna are all right too) and the growing everyone does. Plus, the episode I just finished remedies one of the unfair-feeling things about the premise of the show, and it makes it clear that there was a story arc planned from the beginning, so I am all happy. Starting with DVD 3 or 4 would not be a bad idea if you're interested; I think you can pick up the backstory, and it's improved a lot since the beginning.
Wim sends me photos of BABY CHICK from his Quilcene hermitage. Its parents are the made-of-marabou chickens, but oddly the chicklet is more feathered and less fluff than the adults. I suspect I missed the just-hatched fluffball stage.
cheesepuppet was here over the weekend and we started learning to spin, which is a lot of fun. I've decided not to do it at school until I'm a lot better at it, though. Too distracting. Knitting brightly colored socks instead.
