I had a productive weekend. I finished "Gifted" after only a little over nine hours' work (spread over a month or so, not just the one weekend). The grey-and-white one, first in the skies series, has been done for a while; I wore it to the theater Saturday night.

Here's a close-up on the clasp of "Gifted".
I really like the pictures I took of necklaces in this sunbeam, even though you can't see much detail of "Gifted".

Here's the other necklace on black, on green (which shows the character of the beads best), and (probably the best overall picture) on white in the sunbeam.

And I remembered what I wanted to ask Tamora Pierce, so I don't have to ask [livejournal.com profile] technocracygirl if I can borrow her question. Life is good.
I am home from seeing Tamora Pierce. She read two bits from the just-completed first draft of Lady Knight, one of which was a surprise and one of which was not. I stayed until nearly the end; the person before me got every book there is signed and yoinked the poster as well. Boy, some people. I dished covers briefly with some appallingly young women. And I got three books signed (Page, Squire, and Lioness Rampant, which was the first one I bought for myself) and gave "Gifted" to the author. I think she liked it. She appeared moved. She may just have been tired. :)

I found Devera in Freedom and Necessity, which I cannot imagine why I have never read previously. I had some mad notion that it would be dull. What can I have been thinking?

I have a pain like the tension part of a menstrual cramp. Oi, [livejournal.com profile] mittelschmertz, is this one of yours?

I am keyed up and very happy.
