Went to Fucking Early Class. Was like eight people when I got there, so I began to hope I'd get in. Also, the teacher of the lab section is Liam, my botany teacher. "I get you every quarter!" he said. "I wasn't even listed this time! How did you do that?" I promised him it was not on purpose. :) Eventually a ton of people showed up and I took my leave, as we were out of outlets and I wasn't even waitlisted. Will return to lecture section tomorrow and try to get into second class, but I doubt anything will come of it.

Went from there to buy chem texts for $217. Sucks!

Then waited until 10:30 to see the counselor, and reviewed the first four chapters of chemistry as requested by the professor. (Well, okay, I made it through two and a bit.) Talked to the counselor eventually, and was disappointed to find that she seemed antagonistic? intimidated? not very sympathetic or anything, that's for sure. Whatever it was started around the time that I told her about not placing into precalc, and she said something about did I place into 08...? "123," I said, with perhaps some emphasis, and I was expressing frustration with the test but who knew counselors were so fragile? Anyway, apart from the emotional disappointment and her being sure that I didn't come back (it got me a math dept. contact, hey), I did get a waiver to retake the test, even if she made me pay the $12. (She can waive that, and I know it, and she may've known I knew, but I didn't want to talk to her any more either.)

To QFC to buy a banana and get exact change for the test fee. Ate banana, reviewed real quick the math.

To testing center. Spent about an hour-fifteen taking the test, which had 21 problems this time including trig. I will be interested to see just what I did wrong this time -- it claims I got 85 on college algebra and 96 on trig. How 96 comes from any assortment of ten questions I have no idea. Anyway. The important thing is, I placed into 124 this time! Yay!

Was time for chem, so I went up there. It was a class. Mostly the teacher seems nice, just not so tactful, maybe, which is not a problem for me but I've learned to watch for it because some people are more sensitive. (Sometimes those people are me, but not when it's impersonal like this was.)

Zoomed down to registration to find out what form to have him sign, then zoomed back up. Waited a lot, since he was busy and didn't realize I wanted to talk to him. Was fine, since I was doing the next thing at a set time. Things got signed, whee.

Walked down the stairs (!) to loiter outside the room where the math teacher was holding a class. After waiting, talked to him and got a signature. Two down! That class is tomorrow night, so he'll have to sign the fin-aid form then, but the registration one is almost done.

Stopped at the bookstore to see what the book was, and, as expected, they had only new ones. *sigh* Took the bus to the U Bookstore, went to CRAZY LAND where the thousands of U kiddies are buying their books, and verified that the books are different there. It occurs to me (only now) that the reason I found the physics book used there was not only that they happened to be using the same one, which they haven't done since, but that it was summer quarter and few people were taking classes. Well. Next term I will know better.

Came the hell home. Phew. Went flop a lot, ate the oatmeal I didn't finish this morning, called Wim and found out ENNUI is at the shop being held for ransom, played the Bookworm game. (Wanted to play this Puzzle Pirates thing that dr4b talks about, it looks neat, but it won't run on any of our computers.) Finished The Lord of Castle Black. Mom came by briefly and got the update. Waited for Wim to come home so we could cook and eat pad thai and watch Chobits. Did all that. Wrote mail to you. Now it is to go zzz. Good night.
