I remember that one now. I'm not sure I ever saw its head.

I saw another person on stilts too (a girl). As you say: it's not a parade without stilts.

I saw a guy carrying a viridian sign. (Blurry; less blurry.)

I saw one pro-war protestor, standing in front of the Federal Building. I was pleased to note that nobody seemed to be hassling him.

well and that's a pretty mild pro-war banner (unless I really can't read most of it); I support USA and think a tyrant shouldn't run a country, and probably a lot of the other people there agree, it's jsut that not everyone thinks getting into a war over it is a great idea. but yeah, nice to see someone not getting hassled for politely standing up for what they think.

As I was waiting for a bus downtown Saturday afternoon, I was seriously impressed by the number of protestors that I saw on their way to the march. A couple of people shouted out the windows of their cars as they drove past. Some young-sounding males (I didn't actually see them)yelled, "Bush rules!" and a couple of young females (I saw this carload) screamed "Fucking hippies!"

After the "Fucking hippies!" yell, several of the people on the sidewalk just laughed and waved and called back, "Hi!"

I liked that.

I think it's wonderful that so many people went, and I think your freelance improvised directing people is the very spirit of community, how people can act in small useful ways to help each other make things better.
