I was disappointed in Cantwell.

Very surprised that Murray voted against. I am very disappointed that it passed, but seeing Jim McDermott at the protest on Sunday made me glad I voted for him. Can't say that about many congress critters.

So when's she up for re-election? Obviously we need someone decent to run against her...

I have to say, I'm impressed that she actually thought about it, rather than simply jumping on the wagon (either way). I'm dissapointed that she came to the conclusion she did, but I do respect the effort she made. Still, I won't vote for her again.

You know, I would vote for her again. Not in a primary; I want a different Democratic candidate if possible, because I don't respect her much after this. But against someone whose politics I don't agree with at all, I'll take Cantwell.

2006. Are you volunteering? I can't promise to vote for you, but I'd be interested to see your platform. :)

She is decent, most of the time. It's just hard to respect her when she says things like, "we can't ask the United Nations to disarm Saddam Hussein if we are not willing to disarm him ourselves."

I trusted Murray. She's my girl. :) Cantwell I had to write email to, not that it seems to have made a difference. Does she not get that you can't "encourage" this president to do things except by not letting him have his way? He is going to completely ignore the sensible parts of anything anyone says.

Hmmm, I've liked her votes on judicial candidates but she voted for the RAVE act, which is largely a piece of crap, when it was before the judicial committee. So far I am unimpressed.

I'm not volunteering - if I decide to go into government, I'll likely start small, say city council, and frankly, I'll probably stay there for a good long time... seems like too many candidates stop doing the right thing once they start eyeing higher offices. And, I have no intention of making that kind of career change before, oh, the end of the decade...
