Braiding one's hair and then applying blue dye to the outsides of the braids does not result in as interestingly spotted an effect as was hoped. The left side is slightly tigerish, though, so maybe it's a matter of technique. More research is called for.

That sounds like an AWFUL lot of fun. I'm going to have to suggest that to my fiance the next time he wants to dye his hair (if he grows it long enough!).

This brings out the math geek in me. I wonder what can be said about the features of the visible part of a braid (typical 3-strand, 4-strand, etc.).
