I am in bed with Nyquil and doxycycline, so this is a good time to catch up on posting about my second trip to NYBG. I made lots of tweets, and these are the herbarium-related ones with some extra notes.

Such pretty flower bases! November 18, 2015

My fancy new labels mean I don't have to hand-write nearly as much per specimen. November 18, 2015

Science is a process of correcting each other. (Ourselves too.) November 18, 2015

Every once in a while I see an NPR sponsor in these labels too and get all excited -- oh look, it's John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur! :)
There were several of these. I'm sure they don't mean "sublimate" the way I'm reading it, but what DO they mean? November 18, 2015

I have been privately convinced for a while now that the botanist Matuda was a Japanese Matsuda under different romanization, even though it'd be a possible Hispanic name (just weird). I was vindicated! I found a voucher taken by Eizi Matuda, so Eiji Matsuda in the scheme I'm familiar with.
Every once in a while you find surprise art! November 20, 2015

Oldest one so far! November 20, 2015

Am I tired? Yes. Am I still enjoying an array of very stylish herbarium labels? Yes! November 20, 2015

Done at last! No pants and horizontal. Finished sampling at 630ish and then had to refile everything that I'd found misplaced all day... November 21, 2015

NYBG Herbarium is a great, restful place to work, and I got a lot done. Very tiring couple of days, but I managed to take some pleasant lunch breaks, and I got Saturday all to myself. I'll post about that some time after I take this nap.
